How Long is the Bachata Class?

Each Bachata class is 60 minutes long. All of our core classes are grouped into 4-Week courses, that means for each Bachata level you would be taking a 60 minute class once a week for 4 consecutive weeks within the same month.

Our Intensive Bachata Beginners course is 5 hours long (with a break included) taking place on select Saturdays per our timetable

What should I wear to Bachata classes?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. It’s also a good idea to wear shoes with smooth soles that will allow you to pivot easily on the dance floor. Suede soled dance shoes or jazz shoes are best!

Should I Bring anything else with me?

It is always advisable to bring a deodorant and a mint 🙂 You will be dancing in close proximity to other people, keep yourself feeling fresh throughout the class. Additionally, it’s a good idea to bring another t-shirt / top and a small towel if you tend to sweat a lot while dancing. These simple steps can contribute to a more pleasant and respectful dancing environment for everyone involved.

Do I need to book in advance for Bachata classes?

Our our 4-Week Bachata courses can be booked in advance on our website or on the first day of the course at our venue (cash only). Our 1-Day Intensive Bachata Courses need to be booked in advance on our website.

Are there different styles of Bachata?

Yes, there are several styles of Bachata, including traditional Dominican Bachata, Sensual Bachata, and Modern Bachata, among others. Each style has its own unique characteristics and movements, offering dancers a diverse range of options to explore. Most of our class content focuses on Modern Bachata and we do incorporate elements from Sensual and Dominican bachata as well. Are there opportunities to practice outside of class?

Definitely! We have a Practice and Social Dancing hour running on Thursdays after classes where our students can mingle across levels outside of class and practice their moves in a relaxed and supportive environment. We periodically organize social dance events, parties and workshops. Plus, there are plenty of Bachata clubs and events all around London where you can continue honing your skills and meeting new people.

Do I need to have a good sense of rhythm to learn Bachata?

While having a sense of rhythm can be helpful, it’s not a requirement to start learning Bachata. Our instructors will guide you through the steps and help you develop your sense of timing and musicality over time.
